EVENTONE INTERIOR SANDING SEALER S5-6   0426

DESCRIPTION:

A rapid drying, clear sealer for new, unfinished wood. It's ease of sanding and excellent hold-out qualities make it the ideal first-coat sealer for both satin and gloss finishing systems. It has been specifically formulated for use under Eventone Urethane Varnish, Eventone Varnish Stain and Eventone Spar Varnish.

SPECIAL CAUTIONS:

Eventone Sanding Sealer is not recommended as a sealer coat for floors, exterior application, liquid plastics, including Eventone Poly-Dax. Eventone Sanding Sealer may be used under Eventone Urethane Varnish (0395 Gloss and 0399 Satin) but should not be used under other brands of polyurethane varnish.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

The surface should be clean, dry and free of all contaminants. New wood should be sanded smooth and dust removed with a lint free cloth or tack rag. Always sand with the grain. Previously finished wood should be stripped down to bare wood completely, using paint and varnish remover. Follow manufacturer's instructions and warnings for proper use of paint and varnish remover. Proceed as with new wood.

UNFINISHED SURFACES:

If desired, stain wood with Eventone Stain. For the smoothest appearance, fill opened-grained woods such as Oak, Mahogany and Walnut with wood filler tinted to the shade of the stain. Allow to dry overnight and apply one coat of Sanding Sealer.

PREVIOUSLY FINISHED SURFACES:

Remove old wax, oil and dirt from surface to be finished with a strong detergent solution and wipe surface clean using mineral spirits. Allow to dry. If surface is hard and slick, sand thoroughly to dull surface for maximum adhesion of topcoat. Remove sanding dust with tack rag. If sealed, apply one coat of Sanding Sealer and allow to dry 1 hour. Sand sealer lightly, remove dust and apply finish coat of clear varnish or Sanding Sealer.

If the old wood is badly scarred and in poor condition, remove the old finish either by sanding or with stripper and finish as new wood.

MIXING:

Stir before use and periodically during use to assure uniform sheen. Do not shake as air bubbles may be entrapped in the sealer. Sanding Sealer is packaged at brushing consistence. Apply at package viscosity.
