GOLDEN GLOW ONE COAT WALL PAINT 2-1  5555

DESCRIPTION:

Golden Glow is a flat vinyl acrylic wall paint that is unsurpassed in quality and provides one-coat coverage, provided surface is in good condition and color change is not extreme. It dries to a non-yellowing decorative finish and is known for its excellent wash ability. This product excels on new or previously painted drywall, plaster or masonry walls and ceiling as well as previously painted or primed wood and metal surfaces. It is self-priming on plaster, drywall and masonry surfaces and will not raise the fibers of drywall products. Product features quick dry, water clean-up and easy application with brush, roller or spray.

Reprinted from National Paint and Coatings Association, Inc., FLAMMABILITY OF PAINT STUDY conducted by Southwest Research Institute, Project 3-3774-141. "We believe this study provides substantial evidence that conventional paints and coatings do not increase the flame spread of either non-flammable or flammable substrate upon which they are applied. It also indicates that any fuel contribution or smoke density increase is insignificant when compared with the contribution of the substrate itself."

SPECIAL CAUTIONS:

Keep packaged material from freezing. If material has been frozen, do not stir until completely thawed. If material, when stirred after thawing, is of uniform consistency and has a suitable viscosity with no lumps, it may be used.

Do not apply when surface, air or material temperature is below 50° F. (10° C.).

SURFACE PREPARATION:

GENERAL - Surface must be clean. Remove oil and grease with a detergent solution or paint thinner. Wash off dirt with warm soapy water and rinse with fresh water. Rust should be removed by wirebrushing or sanding. Refer to "Surface Preparation Guide" for more detailed instructions.

UNFINISHED SURFACES:

WOOD - Sand smooth and apply one coat of Primer Undercoat. After primer has dried overnight, putty nail holes and cracks, then spot-prime putty with primer. Again, allow the primer to dry overnight, sand lightly and topcoat.

MASONRY AND CONCRETE - If efflorescence or cement dust is present on masonry and concrete, it should be removed by etching with a 10% solution of muriatic (Hydrochloric acid) solution; wear protective goggles and rubber gloves. Flush off surface, after etching, with clean water and allow to dry.

On surfaces where muriatic acid cannot be used to neutralize the efflorescence, sand, scrape, and wire brush and coat with Masonry Conditioner before painting.

Prime with latex primer and allow to dry four hours before topcoating. Rough concrete and haydite blocks should be filled with Latex Block Filler. Allow to dry overnight before priming.

PLASTER AND WALLBOARD - Prime with latex primer and allow to dry four hours before topcoating.

IRON AND STEEL - Prime with metal primer and allow to dry overnight before topcoating.

GALVANIZED METAL - Prime with galvanized metal primer and allow to dry overnight before topcoating.

ALUMINUM - Sand surface lightly with fine sandpaper and prime with Metal Primer. Allow to dry overnight before topcoating.

WALLPAPER - Remove loose paper. Test for bleeding by applying wallpaint to a small area to be sure wallpaper colors are waterfast. If color bleed occurs, seal paper with one coat of white shellac reduced with an equal volume of alcohol. Avoid holidays or skips when applying the shellac. Allow to dry for one hour before topcoating.

Remove all loose and flaking paint by scraping and sanding. All calcimine paints must be removed before painting by scraping and washing.

Walls and ceilings should be washed to remove dirt, dust, grease, oils, nicotine, waxes, etc.

Scuff sand slick, hard glossy surfaces with coarse sandpaper.

Liquid deglossers may be used to promote adhesion by softening and dulling the old slick, hard glossy paint and removing grease, wax, etc.

Spot prime bare areas with recommended primer and allow to dry before topcoating.

MIXING:

Stir each container thoroughly prior to use. No thinning is required for brush or roller application. For spray application, up to one pint of water may be added to each gallon of paint.

APPLICATION:
